The must-see things in New York for Christmas

Celebrating Christmas in New York under the snow is a dream for many of us. We would imagine it as in American movies with the snow-covered city, that's about it. But here are some monuments not to be missed if you are going to celebrate Christmas in New York:

- Admire the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center.

With its 17m height, it is one of the symbols of New York's celebrations! I advise you to go and admire it in the evening, when it is illuminated, it's magical!

- Ice skating under the Rockefeller Center.

- Going to brunch in Brooklyn

Brooklyn's neighbourhood has many very cheesy restaurants, all different from each other. But be careful, restaurants are often closed on the evening of the 24th and 25th of December. If you walk around this area afterwards you will see some of the most impressive Christmas decorations.

We can't compete with these decorations.

Once your excursion in this area is over, I advise you to take the Brooklyn Bridge to get to the city. If the weather is fine it is worth a visit.

- Eating a Lacquered Duck in Chinatown.

This will change you from the typical Christmas turkey.

- Go see a show on Broadway.

- Time's Square

See the luminous panels in the centre of the world.

- Visit the different Christmas markets

You have several Christmas markets in New York City, one in Bryant Park and one in Union Square (smaller). You will find all kinds of decorations, specialities and Christmas gifts. The prices are high but what matters is the festive atmosphere.

- Doing your Christmas shopping

Stroll through the streets of New York and for the bravest go to Brooklyn where you will find plenty of small independent shops if you are more creative than big brands.

- Walking around in Central Park

This place is magical and if it is not too cold you may have the chance to see squirrels.

Going to New York for Christmas remains magical and to be done at least once in your life!
